Our Client, Ms. Clark, is a librarian in an elementary school and bought her Scottsdale cottage over fifteen years ago. Through correspondence, we provided design solutions for her renovation..

DESIGN CHALLENGE:
To bring in natural light and enhance her present style with fresh colors and new materials. Ms. Clark would like to keep her existing furniture.

The Process and Solution:
We instruct Ms. Clark to photograph her space and send us samples of her paint color. The plan is to create a neutral background of yellow and white. We recommend pine floors reminiscence of an old school house.

The Kitchen's clear plastic dropped ceiling is replaced with a light blue alcove surrounded by a scallop trim to hide the fluorescent lamps. Counter tops are black or white quartz for their anti-bacterial properties. The oak cabinets will be painted white adding an abundance of extra light. The kitchen floor will be a B&W check in Armstrong vinyl tiles.

White cotton denim slipcovers for sofa and comfy chairs. Pillows in pale colors with a black check piping will reflect the colors in Ms. Clark's teapot collection. We suggest to paint some of the pine furniture white and underneath the glass dining table. A custom "sisal" wool area rug will group and cozy-up the seating area. Now it is time for a cup of tea! Farbics are by Norbar.
